• Apr. 28/06:

Helvis fans take heed, their long awaited Live album is nearly upon us. Look for "HELVIS UH... LIVE" dropping like a lead zeppelin on May 19th at the Canmore Hotel. Recorded during their homecoming assault on Calgary's Max Bell Arena, this album will have you wishing Elvis was still alive so you could watch him have a coronary hearing this recording.

Welcome to the new Catch & Release page. We’re kicking off to a fresh start and aim to keep everything a little more up to date starting now.
Since we’ve been laying kind of low for the last little while I should get you up to speed on some of the most recent releases that may have snuck out under your radar. These are all available via our distributor www.sonicunyon.com btw:

The Ex-Boyfriends: Painless Bleeding – One of Canada’s most authentic old school Rock & Roll bands. They only had the patience to fire 6 direct-hit rock missiles at your head so duck and cover.

Pitchin’ Woo: What is Good? – Like being smothered by stuffed animals (like teddy bears, we’re not talking taxidermy). Maybe that’s a bad analogy… listening to this won’t kill you or anything… It’s more like a heavy blanket, but not heavy like Rita MacNeil or Black Sabbath or even like Rita playing drums on The Wizard. Aw heck, just check it out.

Helvis: The XXXMas E.P. – With Christmas right around the corner, what better time to experience the magic of the season with everyone’s favorite legacy molesters, Helvis? Gather the kids around the fireplace and clap along to “Satan bring my baby back to me” and “Black & Blue Christmas”.

Cripple Creek Fairies: Fire In Yer Hole – The 3rd release by Calgary’s rock & roll scourge of the sky finds the boys carpet bombing your speakers with explosive riffs and classic hits (of the Future!!!). Currently storming the national campus charts, the CCF are the Queen’s favorite band.

And, stay tuned for these upcoming releases, currently congealing in the C&R deep fryer:
The Gigantics: TBA – Calgary music vets sporting multi-layered waves of guitar goodness.
Helvis: Live album TBA – Captured live, in all their glory, taking care of business at a maximum security preschool. This very special concert features tons of special guests who couldn’t make it or got shived on their way to the stage. Recommended for fans of those commercials that show animals caught in traps.
